{flike}In 2003 Pete Brough, co-founder of TWELVE DRUMMERS DRUMMING, and Ralf Aussem, guitarist and mastermind of the band SUN, founded the DEAD GUITARS together with THE CONVENT singer Carlo van Putten. Since 2007, they have been composing, recording and performing with a five-men-lineup including drummer Patrick Schmitz and bassist Sven-Olaf Dirks.

After the success of their debut album "Airplanes" in 2007 and a very successful European tour with The Mission, the band returned to the studio to record their new album "Flags". Three members of The Mission supported them: Wayne Hussey (vocals on "Isolation"), guitarist Mark G. Thwaite ("Pristine") and bassist Richie Vernon ("Blue").

The result reflects the total range of Dead Guitars which has expanded again since "Airplanes". Besides classic mid- and up-tempo songs like "Miss America" or "Pristine", the 12 album tracks include elegiac and almost psychedelic songs like "Silver Cross River" or "On A Trip" as well. Together with the emphatic melancholic lyrics, they shape the homogenous general impression of the album.

"Flags" demonstrates the band's ability to define and - at the same time - refine their own style without losing the essential catchiness and transparency.
