After their highly acclaimed debut album "Square Moon", belgian electronic cold wave band DER KLINKE move another step forward with "The Second Sun", containing 10 hypnotic songs which again will very well please every fan of unusual dark electronic music. Their, compared to todays "trendy EBM and dark wave styles", uncommercial but rich sound demonstrate their capability to create and album, which inspires the traditional "album listener". "The Second Sun" more than ever is the musical counter movement to almost every clichee evolved during the past 30 years from the once unique electronic and dark-cold-wave styles.
Indicative for their own claim to create songs with a value and depth marks the cooperation with Martin Bowes (Attrition), who contributes for the song "The Game". On the musical side the new album adds some more epic styles, which finds it's climax in the powerful title track "The Second Sun", dark ambient ("Chasing Chadows") and guitar based acoustic songs ("Universal Energy") as well as heavy keyboard driven songs like "Las Fabricas" all together define the variable and always unique style of this album.
"The Second Sun" is not a "one-shot-hit-packed club-album", it's a collection of songs the listener gets more and more sucked into with every running time.

Square Moon (2011)
With the album debut "Square Moon" the belgian band DER KLINKE present a classic new-wave / cold-electro sound, which stands in the tradition of genre-classic bands from Belgium, which were responsible for a lot of unique electronic-based sounds during the 80s and 90s.
The songs on this album are very well balanced between hypnotic electro-wave tracks like the title song or "Clear Mind" and more experimental and industrial influenced tracks like "Perfectly Dead" or "Radio". The modern and transparent production in combination with a highly variable collection of compositions and lyrics create an album, which is suitable for both the listener and the club audience.
So it's no surpise that a special appearance by THE ARCH singer CUVG on "Where It All Ends" fits very well into the album concept.
The live performance of DER KLINKE features an almost completely live played set, which is supported by guitar, bass and e-drums. This creates even a more powerful and organic live sound, which is designed to be different from the album and to support the originality of DER KLINKE live concerts.
